Business Development Manager / Bid Writer

Job Description
EKR seeks a Bid Writer to scope, write and manage all client proposals. The Bid Writer will be responsible for meeting with prospective clients to gather project details. He/she will meet with internal agency team members to scope project deliverables and costs. The bulk of the Bid Writer s responsibility will be planning, organizing and writing proposal presentations using an InDesign template document. The Bid Writer will also help the EKR executive team to present and negotiate proposals with clients.
Responsibilities
Meet with prospective clients to assess client needs and gather project requirements.
Plan, scope and coordinate project requirements (including deliverables, processes and hour estimates) with the sales lead and internal strategy, design and development team members.
Assign hour estimates and costs to each project deliverable using a custom Excel/Google Spreadsheet and Excel/Google Spreadsheet functions.
Use InDesign to organize, lay out and write proposals that clearly express client needs, recommended solutions and details for each project deliverable.
Present proposals with the executive team.
Track proposal costs, progress and success rate using a sales CRM software and Google Spreadsheets.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, technical writing or a related field.

years working in a bid writing or sales writing role (agency experience is a plus).
2
years experience with InDesign, specifically in presentation writing and document layout.
Demonstrated success in collaborating with marketing and technical teams (e.g., strategy, design and development) to plan and scope projects.
Skilled writer with a knack for turning technical jargon into engaging sales prose and clear project requirements.
Proficiency with Excel/Google Spreadsheets, including common functions and template management.
Extensive knowledge of current marketing trends and technology jargon.
Adept problem solver with the ability to self-manage workload and project deadlines.
Experience presenting to startup and enterprise clients, especially in the technology and/or marketing industry.
Enthusiastic in the workplace and motivated by ownership of a significant role in the company s success.
Experience with sales CRM software is a plus.
A love for board games is a plus.
