Angel Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help build, maintain, and optimize our data pipelines and data architecture. Expectations at Angel Studios:

You are ultimately responsible for achieving the outcomes while also using resources wisely - whether that be money, people, or time. Know your customer - it might be our viewers, investors, creators, or internal Angel Teams. Ensure you understand your customer and are providing what THEY need and not just what you want to build. Essential functions Implement strategies directed at acquiring data and promoting the development of new insights across the business. Create automated systems that verify data pipeline integrity and appropriate implementation across clients Own and extend the business's data pipeline through the collection, storage, processing, and transformation of large datasets. Collaboratively work closely with the business's various departments and teams to ensure all needed data is delivered in successful format. Monitor the existing metrics, analyze data, and lead partnership with other data analysts and engineering teams in an effort to identify and implement system and process improvements. Drive the design, architecture, implementation, and support of key datasets. Create automated systems that verify data pipeline integrity and appropriate implementation across clients. Ensure that the collected data is of a high quality and optimal for use across the department and the business at large. Clearly communicate datasets and information to executives, senior management, and stakeholders as necessary. Must attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings. Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in the English language required. Additional language proficiency is a plus. Competencies Exceptional listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details. Organization and time management. Able to maintain confidentiality of information. Must be able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions. Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks with ambiguity. Willing to perform an array of tasks both in and out of the office. Can take feedback to tasks and assignments positively and create better solutions. A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn how to use new programs. Must participate in setting and achieving regularly scheduled and outlined objectives. Must be capable of conveying information and instructions clearly down the line to various teams Must have exceptional skills in SQL and one of the following languages:
Java/Scala/Python. Demonstrate strong computer skills and a deep passion for data. Possess an ability to perform complex data analysis with large data volumes. Ability to take individual ownership, execute with high energy, share context, insist on candor with positive intent. Required education and experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 5
