This near-mint Fox Renard model 240 was made in 2006, and maintained in excellent condition. I am the first and only owner. The sound is rich, powerful, warm and the intonation is spot-on. The pads are in great condition and there are no cracks, or even cracks that have been repaired. There are a few small little nicks since it is lightly loved. It has the standard key work for a fox bassoon (including the high D and E key). The 240 is a great model for high school and even college students. I played this model in high school all the way to my junior year of college. This last march I even won a competition with it. The silver has been polished, the wood shinned and all the screws and rods oiled. The reason why I am selling the 240 is because I just bought a Fox 601 professional model to get ready for grad school. The Renard 240 comes with a great hard case and a material case cover (that has a shoulder strap and a pouch for music), a cotton swab for the boot joint, silk swab for the wing joint, 2 bocals (CVX 2 and 3), seat strap, neck strap, hand rest, polishing cloth and even a digital humidifier.
