This is done using a patented ground effects impact control system. This unit has technology that calibrates the belt speed up to 710 times per second based on your foot plant pressure. You will not find a smoother, or fluid, and rhythmic running experience. This unit retails for about $10,000 new. It is in perfect working order. It can handle Runners up to 400 lb. It has both vertical and horizontal impact absorption. It has a "no maintenance" running platform. It supports connection to Apple watches and includes a mobile device charger. Unlike most other treadmills, all Precor treadmill decks required no additional periodic lubrication. This is the very best treadmill you can get, IMHO.

1 of the tires has good tread, the other 3 have poor tread. They can be used as a "spare" tire for emergencies, or you can mount your winter tires on the rims in time for winter instead of having to pay each time you have your mechanic mounts or removes your snow tires. $30 for the wheel with good tread, $15 each for the others, or $60 for all 4....
